Mürzzuschlag receives 4e award within the e5 program

At the mayors' conference in Bruck an der Mur on 03.11.2021, the municipality of Mürzzuschlag was awarded 4 e's.

At the mayors' conference in Bruck an der Mur on 03.11.2021, the municipality of Mürzzuschlag was awarded 4 e's. Which means an increase by one e. The e5 program for energy-efficient municipalities supports municipalities in sustainable climate protection work. The aim is to set long-term measures and evaluate their effectiveness. Hardly any other initiative can boast a similarly successful, comprehensive and consistent approach at the municipal level. With e5, communities receive tools and support to set and achieve their energy and climate protection goals. The e5 program is a widespread program throughout Europe, with 7 states with over 230 municipalities already participating in Austria.  On a European level, the e5 program corresponds to the European Energy Award.

Based on quality management systems, the e5 program is to be understood as a process that includes the following steps:

- Uncover weak points and identify potential for improvement.

- Initiate improvement process

- Establish and/or strengthen structures and processes for the successful implementation of energy projects

- Enable participation of the population in energy policy decisions and activities

Not entirely uninvolved in the award was the large-scale solar thermal system installed by SOLID in Mürzzuschlag, which with a collector area of over 5000 m² is one of the largest in Austria. As a representative of SOLID, Robert Söll was invited to the conference to answer questions and to promote interest in solar thermal plants. We congratulate the municipality of Mürzzuschlag very much and are looking forward to expanding the plant soon.
