Austria takes the sustainable development goals of the UN very seriously

SDG

Sitting around and doing nothing has never been a character trait of Austria. Here, the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) which are part of the framework of the Agenda 2030 are taken very seriously. Therefore, the BMDW, the federal ministry for Digitalization and Business Location, invited international experts on March 21 to discuss opportunities to tackle the challenges of megatrends like climate change, digitization and urbanization. Of course, Christian Holter, CEO of the solar specialist SOLID, was also invited as an expert in sustainable energy supply.

Michael Esterl, representative of Federal Minister Schramböck, focused on the new foreign trade strategy of Austria and the resulting opportunities for Austrian companies. With new business models, there are completely new market opportunities and possibilities to bring prosperity to developing and emerging countries. The market resulting from the SDGs is estimated at about $ 12 trillion. More and more companies see their chance in the sustainable economy.

At the closing event, the World Café, Christian Holter was able to point out the political and institutional framework for the steps into a sustainable future market with already realized projects to help other companies with the market entrance.
