SOLID at the 10th Smart Energy Systems Week in Austria
The Austrian Energy and Technology Community met for the 10th time at the Smart Energy Systems Week in Graz to discuss the system integration of energy technologies and the flexibilization of these systems. Representatives of the Ministry for Transportation, Innovation and Technology and the Climate and Energy Fond arranged the meeting together with partners from the energy industry.
Christian Holter from SOLID was one of the key speakers, invited to the SESWA (Smart Energy Systems Week Austria) for input on the discourse of “Absorption heat pumps – potentials and examples” followed by discussions. Especially the integration of large solar thermal plants with heat pumps shows great potential to become one of the key hybrid technologies for the energy transformation. An increasing number of events with a main focus on heat pumps and its possibilities show that the technology has promising future potential.
The main focus of this year’s SESWA was on energy system components, infrastructure (networks, buildings, traffic systems, etc..) and their cooperation (building to grid, vehicle to grid, etc.). Another point for discussions was the institutional frame to leverage innovations and their entry options into new markets.
