IEA SHC Task 55 and R&D@SOLID – NEXT Meeting in March 2017 in Denmark
The Research and Development Department of SOLID is leading the international IEA SHC Task 55, which focuses on the integration of large scale solar thermal plants or whole energy system solutions into district heating and cooling networks. More than 20 international experts from around 10 countries contribute their Know-How. The next Task Meeting will take place in Aalborg, Denmark, from the 14th – 16th of March 2017. Registrations are now open here!
The SOLID R&D Department contributes to a number of international energy projects. The staff of around 10 people from students of different universities to well-known experts in the field of solar thermal energy is eager to share their expertise and benefit from others´ research findings. At its core, the multiplication of R&D activities opens up a field where scientists and practitioners can provide effective new market solutions. High fractions of renewables in combination with energy efficiency for district heating and cooling is a major and important research topic within SOLID.
The R&D Department therefore has high expectations regarding technical and economic solutions at the next SHC Task 55 Meeting in Denmark. The event will be organized in a joint collaboration between Aalborg CSP and SOLID. Core elements are the presentations of first findings in Task 55 contributing projects, and a technical tour to main solar thermal facilities in and around Aalborg, DK.
Interested parties are invited to participate in the meeting and present their projects on solar thermal energy systems for district heating or cooling networks, hybrid systems and technologies, large scale energy storages, or market and policy instruments.
