SOLID goes Asia
SOLID has been present in Singapore -one of Asia’s main success areas- for years. SOLID and ERI@N (Energy Research Institute, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore) started a project cooperation to identify solar thermal energy´s full potential in subtropical regions. A team of five employees from SOLID is currently working on this project together with the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore to optimize solar thermal cooling potentials in subtropical regions.
Starting in September 2013, the GM Patrick Soo and five employees from Europe are SOLID Asia´s Energy Services Pte. Ltd. team (picture, starting at the left, Inga Dömland, Brigitte Schicho, Andreas Mandl, Christian Radovic and Harald Blazek) in Singapore to cooperate in a research project at the innovative office complex Clean Tech One.
The research project´s objective is the optimization of solar thermal air conditioning systems in subtropical regions. The research teams are currently working on a laboratory, in which an absorption cooling machine´s different operation procedures can be tested and simulated. Further research cooperation is already being planned. SOLID´s Asian co-operations are very successful and open new possibilities for future projects and plant installations.
• Main focuses of ERI@N are on sustainable energies, energy efficiency,
energy infrastructure and socio-economic developments
• Cooperation with SOLID Asia Energy Services Pte. Ltd. to evaluate future
opportunities for solar thermal cooling systems in subtropical regions
