SOLID’s newest Austrian project is a plant with more than 700 m2 / 7560 ft² collector area for the new housing development “Messequartier” in Graz, Austria. It will be built in cooperation with the installation company DI WAGNER GmbH & Co KG, which does the mounting and installation while SOLID is responsible for the planning and design plus delivery of technical key components.
The solar energy will be used for domestic hot water and for heating support. The 60° tilt angle of the collectors is perfect for high energy gains in springtime and fall.
The large scale “Gluatmugl” collectors were an important success factor for the project as they facilitate stable hydraulic flows. The whole array is divided in only 6 serial groups at 117 m² / 1260 ft² collector area per group. The standard collector size of this system is 17.6 m² / 190 ft² thus minimizing labor efforts for connections and mounting.
