S.O.L.I.D. is awarded Austrian Export Prize for 2009

Export Prize for 2009/Fa. S.O.L.I.DThe company of S.O.L.I.D from Graz, corporation for Solar Installation and Design, was granted the Austrian Award for Exports 2009 in the category “Trade” yesterday evening. The ceremony took place in the premises of the Austrian Economic Chamber in Vienna.

The award and the certificate were awarded personally by the president of the Austrian Economic Chamber, Dr. Christoph Leitl; the speech of honor was held by Austrian Federal Chancellor Werner Faymann.

With this prize the wide-ranging international business activities of S.O.L.I.D. were appreciated. Successful credentials of recent projects are amongst others two projects at student homes at the Harvard University for which warm water is now provided by Styrian solar installations.

S.O.L.I.D. has also broken new ground in other areas of application with the use of solar thermal systems: the largest office building of southern Europe, namely the complex of the Caixa General de Depositos S.A., has been air-conditioned for more than one year by a solar installation which was engineered, designed and constructed in as well as delivered from Austria. The unit additionally has been providing the warm water for the restaurant area and the in-house hospital and has supported the heating throughout the winter.

Last but not least there are also successful projects of S.O.L.I.D. to be found in the industrial sector. S.O.L.I.D. has constructed a process heat plant for one of the world’s largest soft drink producers in Arizona, where the pasteurization heat for the soft drinks is now being provided by using solar energy instead of fossil fuels.
Several other projects in various countries are being negotiated; a successful conclusion is expected shortly. Among them are constructions in the hotel business sector in the US and the Caribbean area as well as a school project in Singapore or long distance heating-aid in Slovenia and a municipal swimming pool complex in Bosnia.
On the occasion of the Export Award ceremony executive director Franz Radovic emphasizes the importance of the home market.

Franz Radovic & Christian Holter bei der Verleihung/Fa. S.O.L.I.D“For S.O.L.I.D. as a company which has its main focus on project business as well as research and development of large scale solar installations the home market has certain significance. The accumulation of experience and know-how is accomplishable far more easily when feedback from successfully completed projects is available. This gives an excellent base for persisting on the export market and overcoming possible difficulties.”
This conclusion is underlined by the statement of executive director Dr. Christian Holter: “Our projects are accredited worldwide. The Austrian Export Award as a sign of appreciation of the Austrian economy and politics is a special honor for us. “
